I used to wonder why they were there. Now I know.
You've seen the signs: "No Loitering." I remember being a kid walking into a convenience store and wondering what the sign on the outside wall meant. What's loitering? Someone (I can't remember whom) explained it to me.
Then, as a young adult I remember seeing the signs again. This time I wondered who was lazy enough, or had enough time, to sit outside a convenience store and loiter. Then, again I've always been a fast walker and a multi-tasker.
The owners of Pruitts Furniture know all about loitering. They've suffered through years of it by people in their parking lot in central Phoenix. Only there's one difference. When the bearded clerk at Circle K picks up the phone and calls the police to report someone hanging out and scaring the caffeinated masses, officers respond and remove the offender.
After all, the sign says "No Loitering."
Things don't work that way at Pruitts.
For some reason, that remains a mystery to me, the loiters come and the police do nothing. And these aren't average loiters. These are people seeking to take advantage of a broken system and make money illegally. They stand outside Pruitts looking for misguided drivers out to hire day laborers.
Michael Sensing, one of the owners of Pruitts, decided to take matters into his own hands and hire security guards. Heaven forbid a business owner seek to provide a safe and convenient parking lot for his customers.
Again, for some reason that I can not understand no matter how hard I try, some in our community have revolted against Mr. Sensing's actions and made his business ground zero for the illegal immigration fight in Arizona.
It's clearly time the illegals go home.
And, I'm not even talking about a country. I'm talking about the structure they live in.
Oh, but activist Salvador Reza and his crowd are determined to make Pruitts suffer. How dare the furniture store hire security to clear its parking lot, Reza shouts.
Now, Mayor Phil Gordon is once again showing some leadership by proclaiming he's going to get involved in this dispute. "Something needs to be done," the Mayor said.
He's right. He should send the loiters home.
There's nothing more to discuss. Does Phoenix want to be known as a place where the police won't protect private property rights? The illegal immigrants are impeding the flow of business. They are infringing on private property rights.
What is there to negotiate here?
Leadership is about making tough decisions. Leadership is about taking action that is often unpopular but in the best interest in the group the leader oversees.
And, like the police immigration issue, the Pruitt's Furniture debate is crying out for leadership.
I give the Mayor major points for getting involved. Now, it will be interesting to see his leadership talent at work. The community is watching...

Why doesn't KTAR talk about when Pakistani President Benazir Bhutto spoke with British interviewer David Frost of Osama Bin Laden's death and how he was murdered by Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheik who has been imprisoned since 2002. The audience deserves the truth right?

Basically moral and legal anarchy is in play here.
What started, at first, was a liberal, left-wing call for tolerance of illegal aliens by the common hard-working American. What it's morphed into, as usually, is a tranformation of our way of life.
We now have a two-tiered legal and economic situation in Phoenix and other major "Sanctuary Cities:"
1. One for the illegal aliens, that can act with impunity, collect social services at US citizen taxpayers' expense, drive drunk with no license and registration, sport fake social security numbers and contractors' licences, etc., and live a good life with no sacrifice for this country except to take as much as they can and scream racism if you try to enforce even basic legal or social standards.
2. One for the legal, tax-paying schmucks like you and me who must go to work, break out backs to pay the taxes, try to afford health and dental care for ourselves and our families, only to be arrested, cited or fined when so much as riding a skateboard in a business parking lot or runnnig a red light.
If you want to see the direction we are heading, look no further than the LA riots of the early '90s.
What you saw was the ignoble poor, many fresh from the third-world or at least sporting a third-world "entitlement" mentality, using any excuse to commit physical violence and taking (stealing) the material things they wanted for instant gratification: i.e. breaking into businesses and walking out with TVs, stereos, etc., and then burning the place down.
The only difference between then and now, is that were the LA riots to happen today, the result would be five times as bad because there are five times as many third-world riff-raff roaming the streets.
On a positive note, so far, the recent arrival illegal alien thieves are only using the moral violence of social pressure, i.e. accusations of racism, to get what they want and loot our social safety net of health benefits, food stamps, etc. They haven't yet turned to physical violence en masse, though crime is way up wherever they are simply because their mere presence here constitutues a violation of federal law and is a crime.
It's quite possible--and let me put it euphemistically--that, shall I say, non-peaceful, internal conflict will come (as always) FROM the illegals, WHEN the illegal alien mobs and their communist, socialist "La Raza" (The Race) brown-skinned supremacist-backing organizations take the next logical step and finally declare their true intentions for middle America, saying:
"By the way, Mr. and Mrs. America, that is not your beautiful house, that is not your beautiful car, that is not your beautiful...! Those belong to the indigenous peoples whom the "Anglos" stole it from. And we're here to take it back!"
It's happened before throughout the world: Communist Russia, Communist Nicaragua, Communist Cuba, Communist Vietnam, Communist China, North Korea, etc.
Same game different name! You don't think it can happen here?
Mayor Phil Gordon must act to enforce the law and stop screwing around with terms like "extremism" by labelling as such the honest, taxpaying citizens of Phoenix outraged by the moral violence and illegal actions of the illegal aliens.
Some host at KTAR must have the b*lls to get on the rdio and call for the recall of Mayor Phil Gordon, or at least put pressure on him to stand up as Mayor and defend the city.
Anything less is a joke, and David Leibowtiz-era KTAR lunacy and social irresponsibility.
The next time you see American taxpaying citizens diminished in any way, whether it be from illegal aliens loitering in front of a business, illegal aliens driving drunk and killing Americans or illegal aliens flooding hospitals forcing Americans to suffer and wait, ask yourself the following questions: "OF illegal aliens...?" "BY illegal aliens...?" and "FOR illegal aliens..?"
Gawd, do I need to be on KTAR kicking some serious butt!

Great show by Mack yesterday regarding the Pruitt's issue. No "settlement" brokered by Mayor Gordon, or anyone else, will ever be enough for Salvador Reza because a peaceful settlement is the last thing he wants. Reza will not be satisfied until this rises to the level of national news. Mayor Gordon needs to wake up and realize that he is merely a pawn in Reza's scheme. Enforce the law, Mayor, and stop giving credence to this ridiculous situation.

Yeah, but if you could get better ratings doing radio for illegals, you'd switch formats in a heartbeat.
